EASY APPLE TART

Easy Apple Tart baked in the All-In-One Dish

This apple tart is dead easy to make. Add all the ingredients together and mix.

MAKES ABOUT 15 SQUARES

BATTER
125 g butter
250 ml (1 c) sugar
2 eggs
5 ml (1 t) vanilla essence
125 ml (½ c) milk
310 ml (1¼ c) cake flour
7 ml (1½ t) baking powder
125 ml (½ c) chopped pecan nuts
4 red or green apples, thinly sliced or 1 can (410 g) pie apples, drained

TOPPING
60 ml (¼ c) treacle sugar
5 ml (1 t) ground cinnamon

BATTER

1. Mix all the ingredients together, except the sliced apples (if you’re using canned pie apples you can mix them in).
2. Pour the batter into a greased All-In-One Dish and arrange the apple slices on top.

TOPPING
3. Sprinkle with the sugar and cinnamon and bake at 180 deg C for 25-30 minutes. Cool in the pan and then cut into squares.
4. Serve warm with custard or fresh cream.
